CHANGE THE CULTURE - VOTE
People have been sending me emails and texts regarding the last of many communication pushes by the school. It must be nice to have all the emails and non-profit postage as well as taxpayer-funded resources to pump out pro-bond material.
I have already fully documented financial mismanagement and misinformation as well as potential solutions. I could go on to prove why the $10.8 million of savings is misleading and incomplete or how the low Per Pupil Cost means nothing to you as a taxpayer as the school cannot go higher without your voter approval.
BUT WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS TO CHANGE THE CULTURE
If you think through the last decade and all the issues in this school district that you have seen on the Bennington Mommas page, Bennington School District Transparency page, www.banthebond.com, and elsewhere:
-
Failure to follow State & Federal Laws
-
Title IX Lawsuit
-
Mismanagement of Taxpayer Funds & Audits
-
Stating there was a School Policy on Advertising
-
Overspending on own personal District Office
-
Superintendent presenting his own data in illegal closed sessions for a standing 6% raise every year and not following Superintendent Pay Transparency Act
-
Low Teacher Wages, Benefits, and Support
-
Highest Debt Ratio in the State and most of the nation
-
Ongoing Heritage, Bullying, and Inclusion Issues
-
Lack of Transparency on Board Meetings, Spending, and Curriculum
-
Gaslighting of Parents and Constituents or Complete Disregard for their Concerns
-
Inability of Staff or Parents to Speak Up for Fear of Reprisal
These issues are not a “normal course of business”. This is the result of one person being in charge and having control of the school board for 20 years.
Using the Freedom of Information Act, Transparency Facebook Pages, News Stations and Lawsuits should not be the norm.
WE NEED TO BREAK THE CYCLE
I implore you to VOTE AGAINST this bond and VOTE IN 3 of these candidates (Jeremy Dick, Sandra Hulm, Brittany Cameron, or Steve Shannon).

Anything less than that and this school district will continue with the same reign and issues.
